Team TB’s Global Health Travel to India
We are excited to highlight our CBID ’26 Tuberculosis (TB) team’s travels to India in researching tuberculosis. Through their global health trip, the team made incredible progress in their understanding of tuberculosis diagnostics , testing, handling, and treatment abroad.
They met with many doctors throughout the trip, and got to see previous tuberculosis patients. They observed antigen-based skin tests for tuberculosis readings/administration and got to interview clinicians and ASHA workers in Mumbai. The team visited the Chest and Lung division in Pune to see more about how tuberculosis was treated while also learning from the expertise of respiratory professionals. They additionally learned more about what it is like to work in the field of pulmonology in India, and conducted various meetings with stakeholders.
It is impossible to sum up all their takeaways in one post, so we encourage you to follow along with the team’s instagram to look at a chronological timeline of their journey for knowledge. Additionally, CBID will be holding a poster session for the global health projects, on Thursday October 9th at the JHU Bloomberg school of public health and via zoom. We also have CBID information sessions coming up for those who believe CBID could be the right fit for them, in accelerating their personal and professional goals, with a unique one of a kind program and experience, completely submerging students into the needs of healthcare, while surrounding them with all the resources and support they could need to fully commit themselves to problem framing and solving.
We thank these students for their hard work, and eagerness to engage with global healthcare issues, which have long been unsolved and unaddressed because of the sheer scope, and complexity that is carried.
