CBID startup teams Sequoia Neurovitality & Visilant receive Ageing Well with AI pilot research grants managed by the Johns Hopkins Artificial Intelligence and Technology Collaboratory for Aging Research.
Sequoia Neurovitality is aiming to slow cognitive decline in older adults by enhancing deep sleep with acoustic stimulation through a smart headband. The company was co-founded by CBID students Joshua Blair and Spencer Shumway. Visilant Medical is co-founded by Dr. Kunal Parikh and Jordan Stuff who graduated from CBID. The team is developing a smartphone-based telemedicine platform that can be used by caregivers, senior living facilities, or primary care providers to screen patients for cataracts. The Visilant team is collaborating with Arvind Eye Care System.
