CBID MSE Program Outcomes

Since our first class in 2009, more than 200 MSE students have graduated from the CBID program, including 10 medical students. We have worked with more than 175 different project mentors, including clinical mentors from 26 departments throughout Johns Hopkins.

Projects Stats Since 2009:

  • 100+ MSE projects have been initiated (including U.S. medtech projects and global health projects)
  • 14 startup companies have launched through these projects
  • 35+ patent applications have been filed
  • 7 products are currently in the market
  • More than $45 million in startup equity funding raised by CBID startups
  • More than $25 million in grant funding raised by CBID and its startups
