Winners of the 2025 Johns Hopkins Healthcare Design Competition
April 12th, 2025, marked the 2025 Johns Hopkins Healthcare Design Competition. This is a competition held yearly to celebrate and accelerate outstanding designs in healthcare. In this competition there are three overarching tracks that could be taken. Innovations were categorized in Advanced Health, Global Health, and Digital Health.
After a preliminary application round with 440 proposals submitted in total, 8 teams were selected in each ‘track’. The top three winners for each category were chosen after delivering a 7 minute presentation, and engaging in 8 minutes of question and answer with esteemed judges today. We are so pleased to announce the winners of the 2025 Design Competition below!
Advanced Health:
1st place: SinuStim at Johns Hopkins University
2nd place: DialyLight at Columbia University
3rd place: MedNova at Purdue University
Digital Health:
1st Place: NeoScreenix at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology
2nd place: Team Ecoassist at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú
3rd place: Kujali at Johns Hopkins University
Global Health:
1st place: OcuSound at Johns Hopkins University
2nd place: AutoAspira at Johns Hopkins University
3rd place: GAITR at Columbia University
We are so proud of all who competed today, and presented incredible solutions to outstanding problems in medicine. To all who competed we are so excited about your potentials, this was a wonderful gathering of innovators in healthcare, expression of creativity, and a huge step forwards for the future of healthcare.
